Yes, I'm at the.....
Noise Singapore Festival Showcase!!!
So some of you people here might not have heard of or even know what this “Noise” thing about! But it's okay, cause I'm here to tell you all! :)
To simplify it and make it easier for everyone to understand...
Noise is actually an initiative by the National Arts Council to allow youths (like all of us! :D), to unleash our creativity in either Art & Design, Photography or even Music! And from there giving us a platform to showcase all our works, thus gaining more experience and exposure from there!
It doesn't mean you have to be real damn good in it or something!
As long as you've got the passion and love for doing any of the arts as mentioned above, they will gladly open their arms and help you along!
See! So many artworks on display!
Every Feb/ Mar, they will hold their showcase exhibition at different locations with different kind of themes, and for this year, they make their showcase to be a little kind of like a studio environment concept!
Which I feel it's great as it's more real and closer to us!
Cause it's the kind of environment where the artists (or people like us) did their artworks and stuff. So it's pretty cool to see all the settings close to our hearts.
Show you some of their studio concept:
Drawing desk, whiteboard, papers...
Printers!
Books, portfoilo, boxes, cupboards.. just like our home!
Even Macbook are lying around the exhibit!
Upon entering the showcase...
You'll get to see a small retail corner where you can purchase T-shirts or Bags with the imprints of some of the artworks done by the youth artist!
Love those tote bags! It's damn nice!
One of the shoe Ran like, but sadly it's not for sale.
Of course, with various artworks along the retail corner to allow you to look at all the artworks while do some shopping at the same time!
As you move in further...
You'll get to see a showcase of all the young artists that have undergone "The Apprenticeship Programme!", which is like an internship programme!
Where some of the young artists can get to have a mentor of their own!
And all their mentors are accomplished artists, designers, photographers or musicians in Singapore. So through this programme, young artists can gain even more exposure and hands on experience!
As what I've mention above!
I remember seeing some awesome photography works there!
And and and...
I'm so lucky to be able to meet Gillian, one of the apprentices there on the day of the event itself and had a small chat with her to understand more about how the whole programme works and have her talk about her artworks too!
Gillian trying to show me her works.
Her works were featured in Japan recently too.
On the side note, she have got the same surname as me! Hahaha!
Next you'll get to see...
This year, there’s a special category based theme "Celebration", for the upcoming Youth Olympic Games. Artists are to submit artworks that they feel represent the theme "Celebration" best. Guess what, winning works will be featured during the Games this August!
Lastly...
You'll see more, more and more of the artworks by all the young talented artists being showcased up around the area! Sweet!
Oh there's a mini 'studio-like' area for the musicians too!
And you can get to see them performing live there!
Awesome programmes being lined up for all of us!
I even got to see the prize giving session!
The guy in white is one of the winner for Photography!
Check out other winners here too!!!!
Me posing with some of the works there!
Ran kept on telling me about typography, typography, typography the other time when he was doing his school project (which is related to that) and when we're there, he say "Neh! These are typography kind of artworks!".
Wahlao! Say until like I don't know! I know lor!!!!!
Overall...
The whole exhibit was so home like and comfy!
There are sofas and pillows around for everyone to sit around and chill! Also, small snacks (I remember its crackers and biscuits) are there for people to eat too!
People chilling around at the sofas and chairs there..
And most importantly, they have friendly and nice working staff there to guide you around the whole exhibit and explain to you whatever you're unsure of!
Just like this two ladies here who brought me around:
Thanks to them, if not I wouldn't have known so much stuff!
Oh! Not forgetting the fun stuff too...
Small tables around for you to doodle and draw on cards.
And I drew one too! As they say that they will be putting up the completed coasters on the canvas at the exhibition itself..

.
Tadaahhhhhh!!!
It's very simple and not that fancy, I know!
Cause Esther is rushing me while I'm doing it as they all wanted to go for dinner and waited for me for an hour already!
There's a booth for you to print out pictures too!
Guess what you'll also get? GOODIE BAG!!!!!
The typical me, digging through the goodie bag:
